Camping Tips And Information
Louisiana RV Facilities.

Louisiana RV Facilities. A camping article. For those that love something a bit different, Louisiana is the place to be. Most Louisiana RV facilities came through Katrina just fine and here are some highlights.

Louisiana RV Facilities

The distinctive culture of Louisiana is something that everyone in the United States, even the world, has heard about. From the delicious Cajun and Creole cooking and their French-American culture, to the many stories about the Bayou and its alligators - Louisiana is filled with exciting activities to explore and enjoy. Although New Orleans was devastated by hurricane Katrina, the city has started to rebuild, and along with the rebuilding comes a restoration of the culture inherent here. A visit to Louisiana in your recreational vehicle is a trip that shouldn't be missed.

One area in Louisiana that is worth seeing is Baton Rouge. This old fashioned Southern city is full of its own charm and offers visitors a mix of both old and new customs and attractions. Baton Rouge is the capital city of Louisiana, and surrounding this area are many different Louisiana RV facilities that are open for your stay year round. One of these is the Farr Park RV, located at the BREC Horse Activity Center. BREC is the park and recreation facilities management office of Baton Rouge, and this publicly owned area offers visitors an interesting (and central) place to park their RV.

If you are planning to stay further to the south, in the areas near New Orleans, be sure to call ahead before deciding on where to stay. Many sites and facilities were damaged by the hurricane, so even if you have been to a place before, it may not still be in operation. Check websites and call for reservations in order to clear your stay before arriving. Some Louisiana RV facilities may still exist, but be operating under new names or with differing levels of amenities, so it pays to do your research.

The town of Golden Meadow, Louisiana, is located in Lafourche Parish, which is right next to New Orleans. This is a good area to look at for your stay in the Greater New Orleans area. The Bayou Resorts facility, located in Golden Meadow, is open for business and can accommodate your RV needs. This RV park has 40 paved RV sites for your use, all with full water and electric (30 or 50 AMP) hookups. There is also a bath house, laundry facility, fishing area and cable TV available at this site.

Staying in Louisiana may not be the same experience as it was before hurricane Katrina hit, but there are still many different areas and hidden treasures throughout the state that are not to be missed. An RV trip to Louisiana will definitely be a rewarding experience.

Michigan RV Lodgings.
Thursday, June 21, 2007, 08:47 PM - Michigan
Michigan RV Lodgings. A camping article featured by Resources For Attorneys, a legal resources and lifestyle information portal. If ever there was a perfect state for a RV road trip, it is Michigan. Plentiful Michigan RV lodgings give you plenty of places to stay a night or two during your exploration.

Michigan RV Lodgings

Surrounded by Great Lakes as well as being home to thousands of smaller bodies of water, Michigan is a good spot to vacation if you love water recreation. Home to some of the finest places for boating and fishing in the United States, Michigan is also a great area for families and couples that enjoy outdoor activities like hiking and hunting. If you are looking for an area with more of a big city feel, the southern part of the state near Detroit is also an option for your next visit. Whether you are planning a trip to the Upper Peninsula or the middle of the state, there are many Michigan RV lodgings to choose from.

The Upper Peninsula of Michigan is popular with many tourists, because of its landscape. Surrounded by three Great Lakes (Superior, Michigan and Huron), the Upper Peninsula has over 1,700 miles of continuous shoreline for visitors to enjoy. Descended from a wide range of original settlers (such as Native Americans, French Canadians and many European nationalities), there are many different customs and traditions to observe while visiting here. 150 waterfalls, miles of trout streams, many sandstone cliffs and sandy beaches all await visitors to this large piece of Michigan.

One of the best Michigan RV lodgings to stay at in the Upper Peninsula is the Cedarville RV Park, located in Cedarville, Michigan. This lodging offers you all the amenities you need to fully enjoy the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, all while staying in the comfort of your own recreational vehicle. If you would like a longer stay (or the opportunity to make your trip here a yearly affair), Cedarville RV Park can help with that as well; they offer special RV lots for sale that you can use from May to October each year.

All of the sites at the Cedarville RV park include many amenities - such as full hookups including electric, water and sewer. Boat docks are also available, and most of the RV sites here are angled back-in lots for easy access. This park also offers hot showers and impeccably clean restrooms, as well as a laundry facility, recreation room and even boat and kayak rental. The town of Cedarville is a small welcoming place, with restaurants, groceries stores and drug stores all within a few blocks of the park. Within a 40 mile radius, there are many other spots to see, such as Indian casino gambling, eight different golf courses and the famous Mackinac Island.

Michigan RV lodgings have a lot to offer vacationers who enjoy the great outdoors. Staying in the Upper Peninsula means that you have easy access to some of the most interesting parts of the state.

Budget Family Camping - A Growing Trend.

Budget Family Camping - A Growing Trend. A camping article featured by Resources For Attorneys, a legal resources and lifestyle information portal. Is the cost of a family vacation a source of concern for you? The option of packing the family car and driving out to a secluded place at the lake or in the woods sounds ideal to some families. Let's face it; we all want to get away from the incessant ringing phones, the sound of traffic, and the responsibilities of life now and then

The option of packing the family car and driving out to a secluded place at the lake or in the woods sounds ideal to some families. Let’s face it; we all want to get away from the incessant ringing phones, the sound of traffic, and the responsibilities of life now and then.

Budget family camping doesn’t require much planning for a pleasant trip. Many campgrounds around the country offer overnight camping for tent campers ranging anywhere from $7-25 a night which is far less than the cost of even the most budget priced hotel. Even if the family chooses to camp in their Recreational Vehicle (RV) the rates usually, do not exceed $35 per night in all but the most exclusive parks. Most of the government owned National Parks now have online systems in place for booking camping trips in advance. A family can plan their budget family camping trip as much as a year in advance, in almost any state.

Once the reservations are made the family simply packs their bedding, extra clothes, fishing gear, and their food before heading off for their budget family camping trip for some family togetherness time.

If you have never taken a camping trip before you will need to invest in some camping gear which will last for several years. For a family of four your budget family camping trip will require the following gear:

• A good size cooler to keep food and drinks cold
• Disposable cups, plates and silverware
• Quality sleeping bags for each family member ($40-60 per person)
• Tarps for ground cover under the tent (keeps out moisture) around $8-10
• Battery powered lantern, extra batteries (less messy)
• Family tent (buy bigger than you think you need) $80-170
• Basic game gear- balls, bikes, horseshoes, dominoes, cards.
• Fishing tackle box, bait, fishing poles, (optional)

Once you purchase the gear for the first trip you will have what you need for each additional budget family camping trip. You will probably keep adding items as you continue camping. Many campers find it addicting to get away at least once or twice a year with the family.

You can find the best camping trip materials via the Internet. Search for appropriate camping beds, tents, lanterns and so on. Try to prop up with the best and yet inexpensive stuff. It is important to know all the offers that some producers put on stage at the moment.

Camping Describes A Wide Range Of Activities.
Saturday, June 9, 2007, 10:19 PM - General
Camping Describes A Wide Range Of Activities. A camping article featured by Resources For Attorneys, a legal resources and lifestyle information portal.Camping is an outdoor recreational activity, in which the campers get away from civilization and enjoy nature while spending one or more nights at a campsite. It may be combined with hiking either as backpacking or as a series of day hikes from a central location. The idea of sleeping outdoors in a sleeping bag or in a tent on the hard ground, cooking a can of beans over a fire and using the bathroom outside were not necessarily what the majority of people might want to do on their holidays. It might have been ok for the young, energetic and childless people out there, but for the average family or older generations, camping was something that was seldom thought of as entertainment.

Many campgrounds have sites with special facilities such as fire rings, barbecue grills, bathrooms and utilities, but not all campsites have similar levels of development. Although those who find romance in the sleeping bag under the stars can still rough it any time they want to, even the hard core roughing it camper will likely find some tools, products or gadgets that they would love to have on their next trip. From the wide variety of locations and venues that are available, not just in the country, but internationally, to the wide range of camping products that are now made, you can virtually create the experience that you and your family may not have even thought to dream of yet.

If you haven’t considered camping as a vacation possibility for you and your family before now, take a moment to think about what it could look like. You arrive at a facility with a reservation for the spot that you would like. That spot could be anything from a parking space for your recreational vehicle to a gorgeous lakeside campground. It could be cabins with indoor plumbing, a site that has group facilities nearby, or a true wilderness location where you can get as close to nature as you’d like. When it comes time to have the next meal, your options are also incredibly varied. Depending on the habitation you’ve chosen, you could find yourself doing anything from cooking over an open flame to using your own high-tech portable oven or grill that provides you with comforts similar to those of home.

But one of the best aspects of camping is the endless array of locations and activities available at each of the different sites. You can find sites at some of the most beautiful natural locations in the world. But that’s not all. Whether your family would prefer to go to the mountains, by a lake, near the sea, or near a historic or tourist location, you can incorporate a number of fun activities into your camping experience. Horse-back riding, boating, hiking, swimming, and any number of games and sports are all possibilities that will satisfy the vacation dreams of every member of your family.

Introducing Your Kids To The Joys Of Camping.

Introducing Your Kids To The Joys Of Camping. A camping article featured by Resources For Attorneys, a legal resources and lifestyle information portal.Taking your kids camping the first time can be a daunting task, if you're not well prepared. But a well prepared camping trip with your kids can be a great joy for everyone involved. Here are a few considerations and preparations you should make before leaving home.

First of all, choose an easily accessible location. You may want to choose a camping spot that is accessible by vehicle if your kids are relatively young. If you want to hike in to the camping spot, keep the distance pretty short. Also, remember that younger kids may not be able to carry all of their gear and food in, so you'll end up with one very heavy pack if you're not careful.

Here are a few tips for minimizing the amount of stuff you have to take in, if you're hiking to your camping spot.

First, choose a spot with easy access to water. That way you can take in dehydrated foods, and use the water at the camping spot to cook your food with. That will save you a lot of weight.

Also, try taking one or two larger tents to hold everyone, rather than several smaller tents.

A camp fire is another consideration. Campfires and s'mores are a must when you take your kids camping. Be sure you choose a location that allows campfires, and that has a readily available water supply to put the fire out.

When you take your kids camping, be sure that they have the same essentials that you take camping: extra clothing, a coat or rain jacket, food, water, a tent, a sleeping bag, a sleeping pad, etc.

One last thing: before you go camping be sure you give your kids a few basic safety instructions, such as safety with fire, snakes, bears (if applicable), etc. Safety first!
